Dr. Benjamin Amoah
Dr. Amoah has extensive experience in banking spanning over eighteen (18) years, practicing in Canada and Ghana. He is currently the Senior Advisor in the office of the Governor, Bank of Ghana. Prior to this role he was the Head of Research/Economics Department at The Bank of Ghana. He is also involved in conducting analysis and reporting to the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Ghana and analyzing current economic issues for policy making. He has led the financial stability team at the Bank of Ghana where he supervised the team of economists, accountants and lawyers responsible for macro-prudential supervision, market conduct and financial integrity in the Ghanaian financial system.
His experience extends internationally. He was an Economic Analyst at the Canadian Department of Finance where he was involved in analyzing current labor market developments and their relationship to the Canadian economy, briefing senior officials and the Minister on the implications for the economy and policy making.
He holds a Doctorate degree from the University of Guelph in Canada, a Masters in Economics from Simon Fraser University also in Canada and a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana.
